Lesson 67 – الدَّرْسُ السَّابِعُ والسِّتُّونَ

The absolute object - الْمَفْعُـولُ الْمُـطْـلَـقُ

Introduction - مُقَدِّمَةٌ

  • We are still studying the dispensable parts of the verbal sentences. We studied the indispensable parts of the verbal sentences (the active or the passive verb, and the doer or the pro agent) in many lessons. The dispensable parts of the verbal sentence are called (المفاعيل /al mafāξīl/) the objects, and they are originally in the accusative case. We learnt in the previous lesson the direct object (المفعول به), and we will learn in this lesson the absolute object (الْمَفْعُول المُطْلَق /al mafξūl al muŧlaq/) In-Shā’-Allâh (God willing)
  • In this lesson we will study the following:
What the absolute object is, from what it is formed, what its types are. We will learn that the absolute object is an absolute original noun derived from the same rout of the verb. It represents an absolute repetition of the meaning of the verb but without notion of its time. There are many reasons of mentioning the absolute object in the verbal sentence as follows:
