Lesson 7الدَّرْسُ السَّابِعُ

Introduction - مُقَدِّمَةٌ

  • In this lesson we will learn the following:
    • The  noun  تِلْكَ which means "That" and is used for the feminine nouns. This noun is called a demonstrative pronoun in English Grammar and اِسْمُ إِشَارَةٍ in Arabic Grammar. Tilka is used to refer to objects that are further away in the same way as Hādhihī is used to refer to closer objects representing the feminine nouns. e.g.,

That is a lady teacher

Tilka Mudarrisatun

تِلْكَ مُدَرِّسَةٌ.

That is a bag

Tilka ħaqībatun

تِلْكَ حَقِيبَةٌ.

    • When a definite article "al" precedes a solar letter (the letters with which lam of the definite article "al" is not pronounced), the letter lam of "al" is dropped and its assimilation is shown by a diacritical mark ' Madinaharabic.com lesson image' which is known as "Shaddah" e.g.,
