Dear friends of the arabic language,

in another language course, I was taught that to express “was/were”, one has to use the verb كان.

For the person “they – FEMININ” (they, the women), is it correct tu speak “َ كَانًّ ” (kanna – as all 3rd persons have the radical KAN) or ” كُنَّ ” (kunna – as taught in the course)?

Many thanks for your enlightment inshalla.

    Ivan
